The First Five Months of SaccoSys in Review

In March 2024, we embarked on a journey to transform how Savings and Credit Co-operatives (SACCOs) manage the daily running of their businesses. We developed SaccoSys, an intuitive and affordable cloud-based platform purely designed to streamline and make SACCO management easy and more affordable.

Dreaming big but starting wisely, we began by serving just one SACCO which allowed us to lay a very firm ground for what is now a powerful tool capable of handling the complexities of SACCO operations with simplicity.
In just five months, SaccoSys has made significant strides, gaining the trust of five SACCOs in Mbarara. What started as a small-scale software has quickly evolved into a reliable software that these SACCOs now depend on for their daily running.

Our mission has been to eliminate the manual processes that many young and growing SACCOs still rely on, replacing them with an automated and user-friendly platform, enabling them to focus on growth and member satisfaction.
SaccoSys is built to meet the needs of a wide range of financial cooperatives — small and growing Savings and Credit Co-operatives (SACCOs), Savings and Investment Groups, Company SACCOs, Micro-Finance Institutions (MFIs), and Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs). Offered as a Software as a Service (SaaS), SaccoSys exists to empower our clients to deliver modern financial services easily to their members.

Notable achievements in 5 months

  1. Onboarding new SACCOs. Following the product’s launch, SaccoSys has rapidly expanded, onboarding three (3) SACCOs within the first quarter alone.
  2. Engaging more SACCOs and the community. We have actively engaged with the SACCO community to demonstrate how SaccoSys can help them grow. We recently met with the Impact Savings and Loans Association (ISLA), a staff SACCO for the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) employees, Mbarara office.

The future of SaccoSys is full of exciting opportunities and possibilities. We are committed to improving the platform and expanding to serve even more SACCOs, MFIs, VSLAs and other financial cooperatives.

  5. Real-time financial reports to track growth.
